A continuously-updated knowledge base (risk classification, obligations, conformity and governance) written for the teams who have to comply.
The EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) is the world’s first comprehensive legal framework governing artificial intelligence. It aims to ensure AI systems used in the EU are safe, transparent, and respect fundamental rights, while still supporting innovation. Therefore, it sorts AI systems into four risk tiers: prohibited, high-risk, limited risk, and minimal risk, and assigns obligations by role: provider, deployer, importer, and distributor. It entered into force on 1 August 2024, with obligations phasing in through 2028.
